New Images

Two posts in two days...crazy.

Above are some of the images that were commissioned by the Brevard Art Museum for their show Navel Gazing. All were shot on the east coast of Florida between Daytona and West Palm Beach. Still deciding which ones are going to make the cut into the Sunshine State final edit.

Hi Bethany!

It's cool to see some new pictures. I like the second from the top. In the others you are abstracting the space too much, which leaves a really fragmented sense of the place. For me, your best images describe where you are while simultaneously making a witty and insightful observation. In the second from the top, I like how the real landscape occupies the left side of the frame with the painted landscape occupying the right. By framing it the way you did, it seems like it is tough to tell where the real and the imaginary begin. So for me, your showing me how much our ideas about Florida have shaped and influenced the landscape.

See you in July!

I agree with Bill. Although, I really do like the bottom one.
